PANNDT Goals

The main purposes of the meeting are the following:

• Promoting the collaboration among scientists and technicians interested in applying science to non destructive testing and welding,
• Promoting the integration of the community of the Americas in shared R&D projects in this area,
• Prompting the involvement of young researchers in the Congress' core issue,
• Promoting the dissemination of NDE and welding scientific and technical activities in production, with methods that improve product quality.

This will be a unique opportunity for exchange, because, for the first time in Latin America, ISO'S TC-135 (the Non-Destructive Test Committee of the International Standards Organization) and PGP-ICNDT (Special Policy and General Purpose Committee of the International Committee for Non Destructive Testing) will hold their meetings concurrently. AAENDE is a member of the latter, being the representative of our country there.  A Mercosur Standards Meeting will also be held.

Benefits Expected

The 4th PANNDT will supply a venue to exchange knowledge and discuss ideas between the academia and industry.

Plenary and semi-plenary conferences by outstanding foreign and local specialists will convey scientific – technological updates in different disciplines.  Thus, the menu of available NDE techniques and services will be displayed, as well as a survey of the industry’s unmet needs in this field. This will drive joint projects and activities between the industry and researchers.
